One day

Intro

Making a living loving.

She’s a working girl.

If you show her the money

She’ll give you a whirl.

Verse

He gave her hope he gave her coke

Made her a slave of the trade.

She makes her living from loving

Sells what she one gave away.

Chorus

She got busted and they booked her

It wasn’t in the cards.

Kept on dreaming, kept on dreaming

One day she’d be a star.

Verse

She met a man he took her hand

Gave her a role in a show.

He changed her life made her his wife

These days she doesn’t need blow.

Chorus

She got busted and they booked her

It wasn’t in the cards.

Kept on dreaming, kept on dreaming

One day she’d be a star.

Bridge

She may not be a big star

But she’s found a way to shine.

You can see her weekday nights.

She anchors the news at nine.

Tag

Good "turn around" there in the bridge! Was afraid it would be all negative. One suggestions though would be to reword the first two verses to make them past tense so they flow with the chorus, third verse, and bridge. Also, in the bridge you say she might "not" be a star, but she anchors the news at nine. Some might call a news anchor being a star.
