Hey all! There's a lovely tradition in Irish, I don't know if you ever heard this but
On February 29th of every leap year, women can ask their love to marry them, and men can't refuse! ? if they do, they have to pay a fine, or buy her a dress or kiss her.
This funny little tradition inspired my lyrics, I hope you'll like it! ☺☺
Leap Day
(Verse1)
Such an opportunity is merely presented
Only once every four years
I finally have a chance to take control of my destiny
Thank you so much, St. Patrick
Three years I've been dreaming of church bells
I saw myself with a long veil
We were standing at the altar
And it felt like I was in a fairy tale
(Chorus)
It's a leap day, I'm on half knee
I just want to propose to you
It's a leap day and it's February
So this is my last chance to ask
Would you marry me baby?
It's the law that you have to say yes
Or say no and buy me a silk dress
(Verse2)
I'm a VIP guest in wedding dress salon
I know all the designers' names
Like Christina Wu, Jenny Packham, Marchesa Bridal
I know the name of all textiles, maybe even the models
I bought a ring and ready to go
I'll take you to the prettiest place
And I'm asking you the question
In the most unexpected way
(Chorus)
It's a leap day, I'm on half knee
I just want to propose to you
It's a leap day and it's February
So this is my last chance to ask
Would you marry me baby?
It's the law that you have to say yes
Or say no and buy me a silk dress
(Chorus)
It's a leap day, I'm on half knee
I just want to propose to you
It's a leap day and it's February
So this is my last chance to ask
Would you marry me baby?
It's the law that you have to say yes
Or say no and buy me a silk dress
Hello Bogi, This is a very entertaining lyric, (especially because you explained the tradition ahead of time). It flows well and is focused on the tradition. My only suggestion might be to consider a four line bridge between the second and third choruses to maintain the listeners attention. Hope this helps, good luck and best wishes,

Thank you @deacon! To be honest I just wrote this lyric because I was bored and I wanted to salute this lovely tradition. ?
I'm glad that you like it and thank you for read! ☺
@Bogi, I had no idea of this tradition, it is quite interesting. Here in the states, the closest we come to that is a "Sadie Hawkins" dance. This is where the girl invites the boy to a dance, no harm no foul if he declines, other than he might have passed up his true one and only by saying no. Best wishes,
