The stain remains the same
Verse
I’m gonna grab a bar of soap
And wash away the day.
Or maybe get me a bottle
And drink away the pain.
Pre chorus
Call it a guilty conscience.
Maybe I’m ashamed
But one way or another
I’m the one to blame.
Chorus
Bar of soap, bottle of gin.
The stain remains the same.
The stain remains the same.
Verse
I keep scrubbing, I keep drinking
But it does me no good.
I can’t help but feeling dirty.
A bit misunderstood.
Ore chorus
Call it a guilty conscience.
Maybe I’m ashamed
But one way or another
I’m the one to blame.
Chorus
Bar of soap, bottle of gin.
The stain remains the same.
The stain remains the same.
Verse
It’s eating away at my soul.
I toss and turn all night.
I’m feeling the need to come clean.
Confess to god tonight.
Bridge
One selfish moment can ruin your life.
Guilt is a stubborn stain.
Guilt is a stubborn stain.
Chorus
Bar of soap, bottle of gin.
The stain remains the same.
The stain remains the same.

Hello Carroll, You have a pretty good hook here, the rhyme is good, but after reading the lyric three or four times my mind was saying, there is something missing. What was the dirty deed, what was the deal with the devil, what was the secret nasty, why was the singer so torn up? I wonder if the lyric might be better if the singer came clean and blurted out in the bridge where he/she buried the body? Just a thought, good luck and best wishes.
