I DON’T APOLOGIZE (Neil Cotton)

I don’t apologize for who I am
I know I’m not, a perfect man
I ‘ve made mistakes
Didn’t speak the truth
To get ahead for
Our kids and you
I don’t apologize for who I am
I am a work in progress man
I‘ve lost my temper
Punched a wall or 2
Then I settled real calm
Cause I love you
My life‘s a trip
Of mini incidents
Patience has taken me
Where I am
I don’t apologize for what I’ve earned
It took a while for me to learn
Was down to a dollar
Didn’t turn away
Sandpaper grit forced
My luck to change
My life‘s a trip
Of mini incidents
Patience has taken me
Where I am
I don’t apologize for who I am
I am a work in progress man
G'day Neil. I think the strongest writing in this piece is when you say, "Was down to a dollar, didn’t turn away. Sandpaper grit forced my luck to change." Love that. Also lovin' the line "I am a work in progress man." I think what this song needs is to nestle more tightly into the arrangement.
