I think that's a bit of an overreaction, Polly. I didn't see where Init accused you of being a Trump supporter. Who knows what Trump actually believes? He says what is convenient to him. It seems reasonable to me to agree that the scientific consensus is that the virus didn't come from a lab, but there are sincere, informed doubters of that consensus, as well as those who just want the escaped from the lab theory to be true.

I guess I have to apologize. You guys know much more about Covid than I do. First off, I didn’t say Polly watched Fox News, I said that what he wrote sounded like he was a Fox viewer, which he apparently isn’t. I also didn’t say Polly was a Republican. So Gavin, please don't block me :).

I wasn’t aware of the fact that there was proof that the virus came from a lab in China. The virus showed up in Europe weeks before it broke out in China. Polly, maybe you have an explanation for that.

I also didn’t know that Fauci worked in a lab in Wuhan. I always thought he worked for the US Government. Did Trump know that Fauci worked there? Polly, if I read your lines again, you didn’t exactly say that he worked in China. You speculated that he did. And that is what I found disrespectful. If it’s true, then I’m fine with what you wrote. Did he?

I also didn’t know that in America some people are not at risk. That’s really good news. That means not every American needs a vaccine. But then why are so many American dying? Here in Europe everybody is at risk.

Regarding the loss of freedom ... the only thing I would like to do and I’m not allowed to is travel to America. Your boarders have been locked now for over 6 months. I can travel all over the world. Just not to America. Do any of you know when they will reopen your boarders? Or are foreigners not welcome anymore?

I don't think Fauci worked in China. There was a degree of international cooperation, and he was supportive of the efforts, at least, as far as I remember. Those efforts were aimed at understanding better how viruses could cross to humans, precisely what has happened, if you subscribe to the scientific consensus. So it wasn't an evil plot - and Polly never said it was - but if it really did escape from a lab, it was a tragic accident. Personally, I lean strongly towards the scientific consensus.

I don't think there is a scientific consensus. There is no way of knowing without the Chinese cooperating, and of course they won't.

The reason I have been so interested in this is that I have been concerned about genetic engineering for a long time. I think it could be the greatest danger our civilization faces now, even though we have plenty of other dangers. But these scientists are over-confident and think they understand much more than they could possibly understand.

That is why I am also very concerned about the new genetically engineered mRNA vaccines.

I said Fauci was INVOLVED in the research. You quoted me as saying that. I did not say he worked in Wuhan. Obviously, he works for the US, in the US.

Are you seriously suggesting that the fact that people are working rapidly and I hope successfully on a vaccine in response to a pandemic is evidence of a plot? Would you rather they did nothing? I'm proud of the part that research bodies here in North Carolina have played in developing ways to combat the pandemic. These days, it seems that nobody can try to contribute to overcoming a problem without somebody else claiming that they must have created the problem in the first place. It's sad and dangerous.

If wanting healthcare for all is socialist (it's not), call me a socialist (I'm not). If raising health standards in developing countries so that parents can be confident that their children will survive is population control, sign me up. It is not a question of how many people can fit onto the surface of the planet. You have to consider how many of them are driving cars, how many factories are burning oil, how many planes are flying, how much garbage is created.

We have already exceeded how much of our activities the earth can tolerate, by a lot. 

The days are long gone when air and water were clean, when we were not being poisoned. We're still surviving, but we are not healthy. And we won't survive much longer if population, and the number of cars, keeps increasing.

I don't think there is an agenda to kill people. Just increasing education and access to birth control would probably be enough. Women don't want to have 12 children and would not if they had a choice.

Lol... I don't believe you're getting the scope of what you're being taught Polly. Do you really believe it takes 98% of an entire planet to support the 2% that's occupied? Do you really believe that 5% of that 2% really "owns" it all? The world is much bigger than your TV screen.....
