The love you should have had
Intro T
Sometimes love walks out of the past
And back into your life
Gives back what you should have had.
Verse
I saw her in the grocery store.
I noticed she liked white wine.
She asked where the vine ripe tomatoes were.
I said next to the fresh thyme.
Pre chorus
She smiled and asked do I know you
So I said to her
Chorus
I’m the kiss you missed on prom night.
The dance you never had.
I’m the walk out in the moonlight.
The love you should have had.
Verse
I asked is tonight spaghetti night
Suggested a nice red wine.
She said you seem the romantic type.
I said yes from time to time.
Pre chorus
She smiled and asked do I know you
So I said to her
Chorus
I’m the kiss you missed on prom night.
The dance you never had.
I’m the walk out in the moonlight.
The love you should have had.
Bridge
That night we shared our first kiss
Our chance to get it right.
A slow dance with no music.
A walk in the moonlight.

I really like this, Carroll. It has a great wistfulness about it without being sad. One of your best, I think. I don't think it needs the intro and outro - a little too much explanation for my taste - but that's something that could be decided if and when it's put to music.
I may or may not be an enigma

Thanks not sure about the intro outro either.
