WE ALL BLEED RED
A Kiphen/Nelson collaboration Lyrics by Carroll Kiphen & Ron Nelson -music not yet released all rights reserved
V1
I saw a man killed on the TV.
I had to ask myself why.
What did he do to deserve that?
He didn't have to die, he didn't have to die.
Pre Chr
In Gods eyes we are his children,
black and white, brown and blue.
In Gods eyes all lives matter,
that's what he meant for me and you.
Chr
With all that said,
we all bleed red,
we all bleed red.
V2
I saw angry people marching.
I had to wonder why.
With their cities burning round them,
I heard a Nation cry, I heard our Nation cry.
Pre Chr
In Gods eyes we are his children,
black and white, brown and blue.
The only difference between us,
is our point of view.
Chr
With all that said,
we all bleed red,
we all bleed red.
Br
The past can not be altered.
What's done is done.
Lets unite and step forward,
and try to live as one,
Chr
We all bleed red,
we all bleed red,
we all bleed red.

I think this is really good. Says so much in so few words.
A suggestion for the first two lines
I saw a man killed on the TV.
I heard myself asking why.
I'm not actually sure that it's better than what you have. It just seemed to keep us in the picture of the man sitting in front of the TV and being moved at that moment. Also, the echo of heard and saw. Just a suggestion.
Some people might pick up on the "all lives matter" thing because it's been usurped by some who just want to downplay the "black lives matter" message. I don't think that's a problem here. The message of the song is clear. One of its strengths is that it doesn't judge. It's something everyone can get behind. Really looking forward to hearing this one.

Hello Gav, Thank you for the read, comment, and suggestion, (which is actually pretty good), the lyrics and music are not yet set in stone. This is not a protest song per say, as was back in the 60's and 70's like "For What It's Worth" written by Stephen Stills performed by Buffalo Springfield, or "Ohio" written by Neil Young and performed by Crosby Stills Nash & Young, but rather the sadness and hope felt by the writers. The reference to "all lives matter", was written a few different ways, "each life matters" and "all life matters". however "all lives matter" seemed to work the best. Again Thank You and best wishes,

Suggestion for the prechorus: put God out of the song.
We are all children of the earth,
black and white, brown and blue. (??? is there any people with blue skin?) [black and white, yellow too]
The only difference between us, [On this earth all lives matter,]
is our point of view. [that rule applies for me and you.]

From a Biblical perspective I have to agree with Guy. It may be true that we all bleed red, but that has never united us... never made us equal. Self serving greed has made men bloodthirsty since Cain and Abel. 6000yrs of history proves that we have become even more bloody. When Christ returns with His legions of saints and angels to put an end to our Armageddon, the blood of the slain will rise to their bridles and the birds will feast on their flesh...
It's true that God's message is for all His children, but unless all men listen it will always be man's blood that is spilled.
I like black white brown and blue! 🙂

What's the real danger of
Black and white, brown and blue... This should be your title

I like Guy's points, although I'm not sure if they are better than the original. I think he is right that this song doesn't need too much God in it. It works just as well on a purely secular level. However, I think that Deac's original might have just the right amount of God in saying we are all God's children.
I agree that Black and white, brown and blue is fine, although I might change "and" to "or." In conversation we sometimes throw in a random color like that to emphasize how little color matters or should matter.

Hello "T" and Gav, Thanks for the read, and comments, all well taken and appreciated. "T" I was hoping someone would understand "blue". Ya'll kind of shot my idea down for the final chorus, which I hadn't intended to publish until the release of the music, I will for go that idea and let it stand as is. Again Thank You both, Best wishes,

Can't believe I missed the significance of "blue!" That makes the song even better.
