V1
There’s a man who stands beside me
I am sure, you know his name
Although, I cannot see him
Through His grace I was saved
V2
He’s known me, since I was a baby
But I’ve only met him, recently
I Spent my time chasing money,
demons and drugs paved my way
Chorus
I fell down on my knees
I prayed set my heart free
he reached out his hand and touched me
Lifted me up, my soul was saved
V3
Now I walk the straight and narrow
As I smile into the sun
On days I doubt my purpose
I turn to him, he steers me well
V4
Now I tell you, brothers and sisters
I see you wary and concerned
Follow me into his glory
Take his hand, he’ll show the way
Chorus
I fell down on my knees
I prayed set my heart free
he reached out his hand and touched me
Lifted me up, my soul was saved
Repeat V1

I have a recording of this if it would help. I tend to like old time music, older blues and bluegrass style things and this is similar to something from the time period.
Thanks for any input I appreciate it
I'd like to hear the recording, Vet. I'll try to chime in with any suggestions that come to mind, although there are others here who are better qualified to comment on songs with a religious theme.

Very atmospheric guitar and vocals. Has a real old time gospel feel to it. The chorus is basically the same as the verse melodically, which is in keeping with that style. It's very singable. The melody stays with you after you hear it, which is always a good thing. The lyric conveys a simple message. I don't think there is anything I would change, except maybe a slightly shorter instrumental break. I enjoyed listening to this.
