She don’t Love Herself
She was awkward as a child.
She was criticized.
The mirror shows her beauty.
She thinks that it lies.
People compliment her.
She doesn’t take it well.
Everybody loves her.
She don’t love herself.
She loved her dad he put her down
Suffocated dreams.
Said secretary’s a good job.
Learn to take shorthand
And maybe if you’re lucky
You’ll find a rich man.

She try’s extra hard she wants to please.
She needs to feel she’s loved.
But it doesn’t bring her what she needs

Another good one, Carroll. I'm not sure about the second verse about secretary training though. I know a lot of secretaries. All of them are exceptional, some practically run the businesses they work for. Whatever job you choose there, you'll run into the same problem (that you're putting down a whole category of people). How about you tell us more about the dream she had -- she dreams of being a novelist but is told she couldn't write the classifieds or something like that. It's a great idea. Definitely worth developing imo
