I met a girl in Tennessee
Who said that she loved me.
We moved away to Albany
But I dreamed of the sea.
Was only infatuation

LOL It wasn't a suggestion. It's just the wording and reading too much into it. Blue letters are my thoughts.

To the waves my paradise; "Back to her arms, To the waves my paradise" made me think the sailed back out to sea, his true love, his home.

It's a good start for a good story song about a guy who loves the sea. But I'm used to a more "VCVC" structure in songs. I would like to see the section,

The waves of my paradise
The home of my heart
become a chorus, and be repeated between each verse that describes a place he goes and the girl he meets. Oh yes, I also would have titled it "Sailed Away". Not very sexy I admit, but that is what the songs says.
And no, I didn't think he died at the end. LOL!!
