Verse
Been away from home for too long
Been gone for ten long years.
I don't know if i can slow down
Shift back to that low gear.
Chorus
Its like my old levi jeans
That i have outgrown.
I don't fit in anymore
Homes no longer home.
Verse
I want to fit in but its futile
Those days are a thing of the past.
I tell myself it just takes time
Find a scrapbooks all i have.
Chorus
Its like my old levi jeans
That i have out grown.
I don't fit in anymore.
Homes no longer home.
Verse
Its a slower pace, a laid back life.
Theres no rush to get things done.
Theres no deadline theres no bonus check
Theres no prize to be won.
Chorus
Its like my old levi jeans
That i have outgrown.
I don't fit in anymore
Homes no longer home.
Bridge
So i have a mind ill say hello
Then keep on moving on.
It'll be nice to stop and reminece
But the past is long gone.

Hello Carroll,
Nice write, I like concept of returning home after many years. One thing kept thinking about as I read the lyric is, why was this guy gone for so long. Was he in prison, was he an over the road trucker, did he strike out to see the world, did just not want to be around his family anymore? I wonder if we knew why he was gone might attract more interest. Good luck and best wishes,

Ha! I had the same thought as Deacon. Kept wondering why the guy (or gal) had left and why he'd been gone for so long.
