Hope Gave Him Hope
Hope gave him hope
When he didn't have a prayer.
Hope was there for him.
When he had no shelter from the rain
Hope took him home
And helped him through the pain
Hope gave him hope
Laying in that gutter.
His coat lined with newspaper
With the story of his life
On the front page cover
Picture of man in tears
A man who lost it all.
Wife and family buried side by side
All because of a drunk man.
Nothing left to live for.
So he took to the streets
Hope gave him hope
When he was down and out.
Hope was there for him.
When he had no shelter from the rain
Hope took him home
And helped him through the pain
Hope gave him hope.
It was ten years ago
Corner of main and vine
that his life came to an end
Or so he thought
It was a long journey
She reached down
And lifted a dead man
Out of despair

Hello Larry, Thank you for sharing. I like the play on Hope & hope, good job. You have some pretty good imagery within the lyric. I am trying to imagine the music for this lyric, but it's a little hard due to the structure, it looks like 3 verses, a chorus, a bridge, and a chorus, I could be wrong on that though. Have you had music put to this yet? Best wishes and good luck,
