Good use of existing video combined with an empty auditorium - a video doesn't have to cost a fortune to be impactful!

It is such a pain in the butt now to do anything. I got blocked for a time on Facebook/You Tube because CD Baby, blocked me from putting up my OWN videos due to possible copyright violations! LOL! There are so many things you have to do when you are doing this, it is insane how many hoops you jump through to make no money.

But they are both doing well and I'm getting some residual effects, a radio interview, some airplay, a few new bookings, etc. out of them which is the reason you do this sort of thing.

Thank you very much Jenny. I know you are a study of music and are always a sponge when it comes to this stuff. I have not done videos in ten years simply because I am not that much of an artist any more outside of songwriters events, festivals, special guest things, etc. My focus is mostly on teaching and mentoring. In doing that, one of the things I have to explain to people is that we are in such a visual age and everything is a FACEBOOK/YOU TUBE/TWITTER/whatever viral universe, that we have to be willing to do what our competition is doing. So picking your best or favorite songs, doing an "official" music video is a next step up in that process. 

You never know where most of this stuff ends up. It gets "shared" around and you can't see that in a moment, you might be involved in quite a few things you never saw coming. That has happened over the weekend, as I got a couple of new teaching clients, and connected with some people I didn't know, but reached out to me, because of the videos.

But the main thing I did them for is that there are many people I have not spoken to or even thought of for decades. The interesting thing about social media is that it reconnects you with people you once knew. Teachers, high school friends, relatives, a lot of people that I have not heard from for decades, have reached out to me. It brings them up to date on what I do, and hopefully gives a bit of explanation as to who I have become. It's great when a cousin or aunt who have tried to explain what their relative does, to have something they can show their friends. And of course, both my kids have been able to see what the old man is all about. 

So that was the purpose and I thank you for viewing and absorbing. I hope it might provide some insight with you on things we've talked about over the time we've known each other. Again, that's the point.

That's very interesting. It's happening to me too. I don't see the video link, and YOU TUBE is telling me "SITE CAN'T BE REACHED." Nothing quite like technology these days. I guess they have prohibited me from showing my own work. Interesting. I guess they want to protect the copyright owner, (ME) from showing my own video for (ME) and my intended audience (You). I guess we are so dangerous that we have to be restricted. Almost as good as the time I was in "FACEBOOK JAIL" for posting things of my own, and telling me that it was "protecting the copyright owner (ME). So glad we have all these safeguards to keep us from seeing horrible things that might destroy us.

I'll see if I can get it an repost or just let it all go and forget it. I tend to do that. Once I do them, they're done and time to move on. Hopefully, one day if you want, you can see it. I'll see what I can do. I FREAKING HATE THE INTERNET!!
