Karianne Kvalen, a singer/songwriter from Norway, is now taking her career to a new level with a song that we wrote together with Carroll Kiphen and Lars E. Carlsson: “Giving Love a Try”. Wow! For songwriters like me, this is kind of like a dream come true. She even created an official video clip.
I recorded all the instruments on my own. Well, almost all of them. My son Leon contributed some additional strings that sound really awesome and he mixed everything down. Special thanks to Linda Beringmeier for her contributions on the first demo of this song which was later used as a guideline. I’m very proud of this achievement because it shows just how far my work as a songwriter and producer can go. If you like the song and want to support Karianne you can buy or stream it on almost every platform. Mega-thanks to Karianne for the time and effort she invested in this project and I wish her loads of success with the song and all the best for her new beginnings. If you have any comments, feedback, etc. I'd love to hear them.

GIVING LOVE A TRY
Verse 1
I’m done with living in the past
Done with feeling sad
I've discovered there’s no future in
Walking well-worn paths
Pre-Chorus
Too much of the familiar
Is easy to predict
I need a new adventure
Not the usual fix
Chorus
So here is to new beginnings
To starting a new life
I'm giving in - to living
I'm giving love a try
Verse 2
I'm down with trying something new
Down with having fun
If my journey brings me romance
I hope that you're the one
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Bridge
You have to climb on the rollercoaster
And take it for a ride
You have to live and love every moment
To get the most from life
Chorus
Very nice production, Rob. smooth as silk! I agree Leon's strings really add something special. If that piano is EZ Keys, it's the best I've heard you get from it. Sounds very natural.
A good pop song. I liked it better the second time I listened, which is always a good thing in my book 🙂
I may or may not be an enigma

Hi Gavin,
thanks for the feedback. Yes, the piano is from EZ Keys. The drummer is part of Logic. The production was pretty simple, actually. With the exception of the mix, which Leon contributed.
All the best
Robert
