On a day when the forces of darkness seem to be winning, what started out as a love song/anthem for the EU feels more like a lament. Gutted and angry, but staying positive about all that the EU has done and continues to do to make the world a better place. Grateful for the opportunities it gave me and sad for the generations who have seen their horizons shrink.

Hello Gav, Great song and great video, Thank you for sharing. It may be years before we understand the why's and where for, I know I don't really understand it all, but stay positive my friend. Best wishes,

Glad you enjoyed it, Deac. I posted it before, but, given the occasion, thought I'd revive it in a spirit of sadness but also defiance against those who seem determined to make our world a smaller, meaner place.

Es verdad @Gavin
I did not know you have a Facebook profile!!
Your song is, as you say, more a lament than a love song... Europe, a wonderful woman name but full of disasters and wars... And now, a divorce... hmm hmmm the Brexit...
As one of the collateral damaged people I like very much your song and the memory of when borders only existed on the maps of Europe.

Lovely sentiment and song. Enjoyed the pics.
Thanks Larry and Marty for listening and commenting. The world has changed a lot since I wrote this. It's almost quaint now to think of Brexit as the biggest tragedy we had to worry about!
