This is a bit weird and I'd reckon more than a bit hate-able, but it's what I was writing most recently and as y'all know I compulsively post pretty much all the stuff I write without quality control, so I s'pose it's no surprise!
Which Way's Up?
It's dark so dark that I can see
That I can't see so I can't be
Just eight short feet beneath
The ground around the sea
surrounding me and drowning me
It's drowning me
The irony's that urgency's
What catalyzed this emergency
My lungs burn every time I breathe
I'm terrified but I can't scream
I'm kicking still can't feel my feet
I'm nowhere note please
I can't leave I'm spinning
all around me
Spinning spinning all around
I'm spinning spinning
passing out
I'm spinning sp-
I think I'm going down
No more kicking I can't breathe I'm spinning
tank's run out I'm spinning
floating shocked n'awe listless seized
flowing with the current hopeless
Peace can't help but ease into me
free at least of mind find behind my eyes resigned to knowing no tomorrow's mine and that's just fine
But wait a light! A way to rise
I'm thrashing at the waterline
So dull so bright so close so close
I might not quite...
Reach out arms stretch swinging swishing I can see! I can see!
Increasing speed or slowing down
I'm slowing down slowing down
Feeling sleepy eyelids falling freezing warm thoughts free dreamless floating clouds
An arm comes crashing down
There's splashing
Blackness slipping sliding grasping
Just like that I'm free
Then silence and it's alright
Blue eyes I see blue eyes blue skies? clear blue sky it's sky I see the sky I see it must mean I'm alive
Feel sand coarse salty dry sharp stabbing gravel in my hand and as I stand
Sand grain glass knives slice my pickled heel feet to the scalding heat from whence I ran to cool my two feet in the sea
The kiss of land may sting some time
But I don't mind
Cuz somehow I'm still alive
And I don't mun
But I can't believe it's really just anxiety

Hello Rhys, I read the lyric before I listened to the song. The lyric is really intriguing and hard to stop reading, so much in there, however I enjoyed it. I listened to the song, it also is very engaging music wise, however I had a hard time hearing the lyric, could be my hearing, or perhaps you intended that to demonstrate the urgency of the situation. I really love the last line of this lyric though, Kudos. Good luck and best wishes,

Thanks! I pretty much agree with your take. As far as the lyric, I can't here it either so it's not you, and it's definitely unintentional. Hoping to re-record it when I get a minute to myself. Shared it anyway, mostly because I really liked the lyric set. Thanks for the feedback, hope you're doing well! 🙂

Actually scratch all that. Had a quick look and idk what I was thinking yesterday but it should be way clearer sounding now. Cheers

Hello Rhys, Thank goodness, thought maybe I was going deaf, but I can hear it much clearer now. I do wish I could talk and sing as quickly as you do, I could say more in 2.46 minutes than what I normally say in one day LOL. Thank you for sharing, best wishes,
