That's a nice lyric. Knowing your musical style, I think it'll be a good fit and I look forward to hearing it.

I think my least favorite bit is the title/hook. It sounds a bit unnatural with the word "down" at the end. Rain isn't going to fall up, and people would normally just say "When the rain falls." Maybe "When the rain comes down" would be better. Maybe it's just me overthinking it. I have a tendency to do that 🙂

Hey Carl,

You're gong to hate me, but I think "After a little rain" is a step down from the original. It sounds a bit weak. How about "After the storm." Or "In the middle of the storm," depending on what you are trying to say. It's a lot stronger and also brings in ideas beyond just rain, such as wind and lightning.

Also, I missed this the first time, but "Lay your head by my side" seems a little strange, suggesting that she is either a midget or someone with a detachable head. I would be surprised if that was what you meant by that line. How about "Lay your head next to mine."
