**UPDATE**(electric)
https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14045369

Headin' out'a town on a freight train rolling
Shaking down the tracks moving way too slow
Leaving behind all the guilt and shame
And a jilted lover that feels the same

Run away train, get me out of this place
Get away sane, let me forget her face
Any destination, forgetin' this relation
Train, roll me on down the line

Pocket full of dreams and a restless soul
Wandering lust and a heart of gold
No pretty lady aught to sleep alone
And wherever I hang my hat is home

Run away train, get me out of this place
Get away sane, let me forget her face
Any destination, forgetin' this relation
Train, roll me on down the line

Now I'm sleeping on the floor
I've got a paper plate
I've got a plastic fork
I'm eating T'bone steak
I've got a bottle of booze
And a dixie cup
Aint' half as warm as her
But it'll sure screw me up

You're onto a good concept, the Singer-Character as the 'Runaway' and the train serving his 'run away'. And even the sleepin' on the floor and paper plate and plastic fork are picturesque, as what the Runaway is willing to put up with rather than stay in a bad situation. But then the bottle of booze suggests despair, hopelessness. Ya gotta give the Runaway hope, a positive attitude that he's saving himself by getting away.
Your second Stanza looks like the Chorus, changing the "Runaway Train" in the title to 'Run away train...', like a command for the train to run away. Keep it 'Runaway', and Repeat it at the end of the Chorus, maybe twice.

"Runaway Train"
(Long Introductory Movement. Very entertaining. You could license that all by itself for use in a TV commercial. Very lucrative market. )

Headin' out'a town on a freight train rolling,  ("I'm", a pronoun to introduce the Singer-Character, the actor to do the action of the verb, 'headin'.)
Shaking down the tracks moving way too slow.
Leaving behind all the guilt and shame (Let him 'own' it, 'my guilt and shame')
And a jilted lover that feels the same (Maybe delete 'And' and change 'that' to 'who'. This Line introduces the Love-Interest Character. Now it's a story!)

Runaway Train, get me out of this place! (After the long Intro. the Lyric gets quickly to the Chorus. Strong.)
Get away sane! Let me forget her face! (There she is, the reason for the whole Song.)
Any destination, forgettin' this relation! ('forgettin' or just 'forget'?)
Train, roll me on down the line!
Runaway Train!
Runaway Train!

Pocket full of dreams and a restless soul
Wandering lust and a heart of gold
No pretty lady ought to sleep alone
And wherever I hang my hat is home (Delete 'And'. In this Line he's dealing with the situation, a positive vibe.)

Runaway Train, get me out of this place! (Repeat of Chorus. They've heard it once, and like hearing it again.)
Get away sane! Ket me forget her face!
Any destination, forgettin' this relation!
Train, roll me on down the line!
Runaway Train!
Runaway Train!

(Instrumental Bridge)
(Bridge: It has its own Melody, Rhythm, Rhyme. Rhyme is all over the place in most of the Song, but you seem to get it to work. I'll have to study to see how you did that.)

Now I'm sleeping on the floor.
I've got a paper plate.
I've got a plastic fork.
I'm eating T'bone steak! (See? Things are looking up!)(A Bridge is generally brief. You could end it here.
I've got a bottle of booze, (And down.)
And a dixie cup!
Aint' half as warm as her, (This concept is strong. I'd hate to delete it, but it's that booze thing I'm hung up on.)
But it'll sure screw me up (As if the bottle, single bottle being strong drink, and being screwed up as a desired state of mind, which we all know is a bad idea.)

Runaway Train, get me out of this place!
Get away sane! Let me forget her face!
Any destination, forgettin' this relation!
Train!

Train! Train!
Roll me on down the line!
Runaway Train!
RunawayTrain!
(Good quick ending.)

"Pocket full of dreams and a restless soul
Wandering lust and a heart of gold
No pretty lady aught to sleep alone
And wherever I hang my hat is home"... This is a lifestyle choice lol, I think the bottle has always been there.

Thanks Gary! 🙂

On a side note... since I've stepped away from this for a day now, I'm thinking the verses would benefit greatly from a hard 4 on the floor drum beat, and the "train whistle" could be accentuated with an electric guitar. What do you think?

The completeness of your productions is remarkable. This sounds like broadcast ready recording levels. The precision of execution of instruments, the way they work together with the vocal, the vocal level featured, not buried in the mix, are all on a par with the best recordings heard on the market today.

I'm sincere in that praise. We listen to a lot of 'product' from 'amateur' performers and creators, most of which is below par.
Your product is, then, above par. Your recording levels seem very balanced, 'clean', listenable. Often there are percussive sounds that are not coherent with the rest of the mix. Often the execution on guitar is subpar. Yours are sophisticated, well mixed. Are you playing guitar and bass and drums?
That 'tempo' from the start is engaging. That up-tempo stuff is what commercial advertising is looking for to sell their products, something that wakes people up, positive vibe, new sounds building to keep them hooked, listening. If you can handle being rich you should explore Synchronization Licensing. It's dangerous to get rich but some people can handle it.
That positive vibe is why I objected to the booze. For commercial advertising it's all about empowering the consumer with the benefits of their product, so they want music that does that too, gives them the sense that this product is going to make their life better.
I'm listening again as I type. It is distracting. I'm more interested in hearing the work than paying attention to trying to think and type in my thoughts. As I say, we listen to a lot of 'product' on the internet and much of it is easy to ignore. But you have skills that stand above the average bear. Explore commercial advertising, that stuff playing in the background in 30-second TV commercials, movie soundtracks, brief 'cues', movie trailers, TV shows. That market is huge, 100's of shows, and all of them wanting short cues, full Songs, EVERY episode. And, if getting rich ruins your life, I apologize in advance.
"Greed2" Guitar work. Five-star.
"Done Preachin'" Bass workin' for a livin'. Drummer gettin' some. Guitar mellowing, harmonic ding. Keyboard? Dude! Jazz jammin'. Guitar solo, superb.
I ain't bullshittin' ya bro. You got mad skills, as the young people used to say.
"If" is kickin' off. I'm listening with a confident expectation I'm going to hear something interesting. Acoustic guitar. Percussion. Fingerpicking? Lyric doesn't seem to be getting to the Chorus. Bass kicking in. Percussion. This ain't just keeping the beat. Your percussion is 'performing', playing a role, solo contribution. Electric guitar, again, sophistry uncommon in internet product. Why the hell ain't you famous? Again, fame can ruin your life. My apologies, in advance. Your 'builds', increasing intensity, OHH! A wail of guitar there at the end! Your builds are well-done.
"Rip It Up 2". Nice tempo. Rock n' Roll! Title in background vocal. Interesting effect. I noticed that background vocal work done very effectively in "Runaway Train". The lead 'singer' never sings 'Rip It Up'. Oooh! Guitar. Now lead solo! Hot licks.
"No Doubt". Droning guitar. Percussion. Well mixed, levels.
And Song to Song you explore a variety, always seeming to find new stuff to play. Your subtle use of cymbals, I like. Some people 'dwell' on cymbals and it gets annoying. Cymbals are a dramatic device. They call them 'crash' cymbals for a reason. "No Doubt" ends suddenly. Music Supervisors, who make decisions about music for commercials, like stuff that ends suddenly. Easy to cut to video. They call them Edit Points, the points in a piece of music where they can easily start or stop the music in synchronization with the video.
What am I listening to now? "All You Get Is Me." Good percussion. The usual good mix, levels. You feature your vocals, which I like. Any time a singer is singing words that's the featured thing. All else is in support of that.
Oh! Now we're onto a different tempo. "Swing it". Great guitars, sound like more than one. Great treble licks. Doin' their own thing while the Rhythm guitar keeps doin' its work.  "Just Swing It. Oh, you gotta Swing It". Guitar right at the end left me wanting more!
"Not Satisfied".  Drums and bass tight. Guitar unobtrusive, doing its own thing in fine form. Holy smoke! Your guitar work. You a one of a kind dude!
"NSM (Never Silence Me)". Drums. Interaction with guitars, bass, other. Your drumming is nuanced, filling spaces, supporting all else while getting its own spotlight too.  Your vocals are always up in the mix, audible. That's a number one criticism from people in the industry, 'Vocal buried in the mix.' Sudden ending, a bit disturbing, and that's good. Surprise them!
"What I Have Become". Acoustic. Simple percussion, shaker? The variety of tempos and Songs like this, eclectic, keep it interesting. Kicking in electric now. Percussion, guitar, working it. Vocal still clear.
"Exceptional American". Bass workin' it. I'm likin' the Lyric. LOL here! I'm afraid of what right-wing horse's ass would do with this Lyric, justifying their own behavior with it, but it's good philosophy.
"Stand". A resurgent dynamic, after the laid back "Exceptional American". Drivin' drums. Guitar crazy intense. You're never at a loss! You find stuff to play no matter what! The 'Stand' Lines don't seem to come through clearly. Reverb may be distorting. There's that mad guitar work. Dude! Drummer kickin' it. Are you playing all these instruments? This ain't computer generated shit. This is Human drumming, Human bass and guitar.
"1 Word Remix". "One Word" prominent, driving that home as the title. What am I hearing in the background? Is that a keyboard sound? Subtle, supportive, unique, odd.  Vibrato, organ? Guitar kicks in. Sudden end. Keyboard sweep.
"Breathe 2". Keyboard. So subtle. Jazz-ish. Bass totally listenable.
That's 12 Songs. And I assume there are more. You've got salable product. Monetize it. Think and grow rich.
"In The Mood". Kickin' off hot. I gotta go lay down! You're wearin' me out! LOL! Well, in a minute. Can't quit on this guitar work.

Damn Gary... I should pay you to promote me!

The drums are actually a digital trick... I can record a part with my E-kit then tell the "digital drummer" to follow me. Makes editing a lot easier, and the overall performance a lot cleaner lol. So, I'm only about half the drums but all else is me.

I've always thought doing "mood music" for movies would be cool! 🙂

Well you should check out the mentorship program of www.catchthemoonmusic.com Cathy Heller Reinstein proposes to teach you how to monetize your music, and explains how lucrative it can be. They...Music Supervisors who make those decisions...are looking for you. You have to have what they're looking for, not just try to sell them what you have, but I'm confident your product could fit their specifications. Once you establish a relationship with them they send you a 'Brief', delineating what they want, Song about Color, uptempo, 30 seconds, Song about standing out in the crowd, stuff like that. There may be a need for full Songs, movie/TV soundtrack. But for every TV show there are a couple dozen commercial ads, and those can be very lucrative. Check 'em out. It an expensive investment, and a time investment. They'll start a new cohort, probably, in August 2020. Some people go to L. A. Some 'attend' virtually, from home. Your recording skills make that imminently practical.
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
More tracks played as I was signing off, more acoustic, laid-back stuff to mix in with the heavier work. You can make tracks that are marketable in my humble opinion, for Synchronization Licensing..

And yo! Sync Licensing is for a 'use'. They might sign it for 6 months. You still own it and can license it again, and again. They might come back if it seems to sell their product and renew for another 6 months, again for another year. Each time the contract is likely to get more lucrative. Cathy's book is, "Don't Keep Your Day Job." lol

I listened a couple of times but didn't have time to comment until now. I love the opening, very evocative of the train on the tracks, and the train horn that pops up later is masterful. I don't usually like this kind of song where the melody is constantly interrupted by guitar riffs at the end of each line, but it works here. Great production too. This is really good Tony!

I may or may not be an enigma
