Old river road
Intro
They searched the river bottom
The woods all around.
Where the found my old Chevy
And blood on the ground.
Verse
When you’re young you want freedom.
You want to have your way.
When you’re young you are restless
You want to have your say.
Pre chorus
I fell in with a rough crowd.
I talked the talk.
But they wanted to see if
I’d walk the walk.
Chorus
When it came push to shove
I backed out told them no.
All they found was the car
On old river road.
Verse
When you’re young you want action
You want to do your thing.
When you are young you are foolish
You want to try your wings
Pre chorus
I fell in with a rough crowd.
I talked the talk.
But they wanted to see if
I’d walk the walk.
Chorus
When it came push to shove
I backed out told them no.
All they found was the car
On old river road.
Bridge
I should’ve listened to daddy
Should have towed the line.
I should’ve steered clear of trouble.
I would have been fine.

Hmmm, very good Carroll, and very interesting. I started reading this and I kept thinking "where's the body?". One line kept popping into my mind as I read this "live and die by the gun", but being as the manner of death isn't revealed, (which is the intrigue of the lyric) probably wouldn't work with the lyric. Kudos, and Thank you for sharing. Good luck and best wishes,
