Love hit the road
Verse
I made her acquaintance some time back.
For a while we were quite the thing.
We even went shopping together
But couldn’t decide on a ring.
Verse
Love has been a stranger of late.
Haven’t seen her for a while.
Been looking but haven’t found her
And I’ve gone many a mile.
Pre chorus
No goodbye, no so long.
No message, no call.
Chorus
I wonder why, I have to know.
Why love hit the road.
Verse
I started in South Carolina
And I worked my way up the coast.
But I never caught sight of her sail.
I feared I was chasing a ghost.
Pre chorus
No goodbye, no so long.
No message, no call.
Chorus
I wondered why, I have to know.
Why love hit the road.
Verse
I thought I saw her in Delaware
But it turned out it wasn’t her.
So I set my sights on the west coast
And headed for the sun and surf.
Pre chorus
No goodbye, no so long.
No message, no call.
Chorus
I wondered why, I have to know.
Why love hit the road.
Verse
When I think that maybe I’ve found her
She vanishes into thin air.
I’ve been looking close to a year now
But haven’t found her anywhere.
Bridge
From the day that love left my life
I have tried to find her again.
I’ve searched to and fro all for naught.
I lost her when we became friends.
Love has been a stranger of late.
Haven’t seen her for a while.
Pre chorus
No goodbye, no so long.
No message, no call.
Chorus
I wonder why, I have to know.
Why love hit the road.

Hello Carroll, Thank you for sharing, good idea and good hook. The structure and rhyme fit well, seems like a while before you hit the hook though. I do wonder if five verses might make the song too long to keep your audience interested. Good luck and best wishes,
