Not really any structure to this but what the hell.
January brings a new year
January brings a new year.
Dry your tears, dry your tears.
Last year in February.
I buried mom and dad.
Mortality came calling.
Then it rained.
It lasted most of the spring
Till summer dried my eyes.
I tried and tried but couldn’t sing.
It was a short reprieve till I received
More bad news.
I heard my sister died.
Prayed to god please help me.
Help me understand.
What is next for me?
please lend a hand.
Dashed my hopes when he spoke
Learned that day god’s cold.
Said it’s all a part
a part of growing old.
December was a dark time.
Saw death out in the snow.
Sent chills thru my soul.
Came fall a call came in.
My son said, hello dad.
Come this January
You’ll be a granddad.
January brings a new year
Dry your tears, dry your tears.
Hope is finally here.
