Hosed
Verse
I planted those rose bushes.
Built that picket fence.
Raised two kinds inside that house.
Taught them common sense.
Pre chorus
I don’t live there anymore.
Some other Sancho does.
Treats her better than I did.
He shows her he’s in love.
Chorus
There’s a stranger in the yard.
Holding my old hoe.
Tending to her garden
With his water hose.
Verse
I painted that rose trellis.
Paved that patio.
Thought she was in love with me
Thought that we’d grow old.
Pre chorus
I don’t live there anymore.
Some other Sancho does.
Treats her better than I did.
He shows her he’s in love.
Chorus
There’s a stranger in the yard.
Holding my old hoe.
Tending to her garden
With his water hose.
Bridge
Took care of her for ten long years.
Tried to make a house a home.
Now a stranger tends her garden
While I’m out in the cold.
Tag
I can’t help but feeling like
I’ve been hosed.

Ha! I like this one. I'm not much of a country girl, but I can totally hear it as a country song and totally hear the melody. Very singable song, Carroll. You could add a little barb to the song if it went "with my water hose" but totally works as "his hose." Suggest you end it "I can't help but feel like I'm the one being hosed" or "whose hosed."
