This starts with a weird bit o' crazy internal brain banter, what with the whole gaslighting theme and whatnot
Are You Happy Yet?
"You fuckin' talking to yourself again?"
"I can't sell out"
"Hey you know what buddy? We're talking to ourselves, I'll have ya know"
"Fucking plug"
"Dude you sound nuts"
"WE sound nuts"
"You're such a sellout bro"
"Fucking plug"
"I can't sell out! No one listens to me"
"You're a loser loser loser loser"
"Get a job hippy"
"But I have a job, I'll have ya know" "Fucking plug"
"I can't sell out"
"You're a loser loser loser loser"
You said we're reading from the same script
But we're each on our own page
I just wanna grow up
You can't make you act your age
Ironic then how you moved on
And I still feel the same
Like a moth awaits a gaslight flame
One spark I'll chase the blame
We placed our bets
My one regret
Put my chips on you
To not forget we ever met
And then I hit reset
You haven't yet
Tried to repent but you resent
The time we spent on off on off
Dumb sentiment
Are you happy yet
We placed our bets
My one regret
I put all my chips on you
To not forget we ever met
Are you happy yet?
I haven't felt your heartbeat
Since you cut your hair on Fleet Street
Paid the bill you didn't see
Your naivety don't make things free

Your music mix is getting much cleaner, more purposeful, less cluttered... Still can’t understand a word you’re saying though.
Just for shits n giggles, try making a recording of nothing but vocals and a beat! ?

Thanks dude! I'm kind of getting to the point of giving up on being understandable, doesn't seem like something I've been able to figure out, for whatever reason. I always record with headphones, so maybe those help w/ hearing the words but idk. Anyways, I'll try giving that a go and see if maybe some words get through that way 😛 Cheers, and thanks as always!

I was singing along to the chorus LOL. Seriously, you get weirder and weirder. The world needs more weird 🙂
I don't know why you find it so hard to record your voice so that the words can be understood. Is it understandable before you add effects? I actually found you easier to understand here than on previous tracks, especially at the start. Later on, I think it's partly a case of the music drowning you out.
I may or may not be an enigma

Haha, thanks Gavin! Honestly I think it must be my mixing, b/c when Japov remixed those songs I think it made my vocals way clearer. Maybe it's because I'm so familiar with the lyrics that when I mix them I don't realize I'm muddying them. I think hearing things as you expect them is a thing, but honestly if I had a full answer I'd just fix the problem 😛 Glad ya enjoyed it, I've got no intention of getting less weird! Cheers

I guess it's relevant to mention I've got this overwhelming irrational fear of people hearing me sing, so if I think there's a chance someone might wander in I tend to mutter more... it's been better recently b/c I don't live in a townhouse anymore and mostly record in the basement, so I've been able to be a bit louder when recording than historically

I think I fixed some of the muddiness. The bass was mixed way too high
