In my time I've often been jived and taken in by the grift

Of some smooth tongue rappin' a line of absolute sterling shit

But there's one con I've never bought ' cause I'll never take its bait

That's the line that'd have me subscribe to the follies of anger and hate

Now I'm not saying I've not been tempted to vent my spleen without

Lord knows it's always easy to place cause for troubles about

There's always a convenient hanger to receive the hurt-spun coat

Of accusation for injury that indignation brooding has sewn

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

I ain't cool with no move to defame

Anyone based on their race

Or any personal difference of taste

That won't fly with this human no way

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

Sure it's easy a false faith to embrace

That tells you its OK to fully displace

All the fear and uncertainty faced in the course of perilous days

But such BS can always be traced to intention to get your mind caged

And once you swallow that take you'll be left bound tight to the page

Of resentment you'll never escape that will fester deep in your brain

Until all the pain it inflames moves your hands to acts they cannot erase

That leaves you rotting away in a death-cell leading straight to the grave

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

I ain't cool with no move to defame

Anyone based on their race

Or any personal difference of taste

That won't fly with this human no way

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

Just remember we all have some pain

And blaming others never takes it away

Don't be a fool slaving blindly in chains

Forged by evil to understanding restrain

Oh yes Satan I do know your name

And you ain't getting me damned to your flames

Better light candle to darkness forsake

And all our demons of deadly bitterness slay

So the angels of wisdom may reign

Over gold days where love guides our way

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

I ain't cool with no move to defame

Anyone based on their race

Or any personal difference of taste

Not on the basis of with whom love they make

Or what name of Lord God they embrace

That won't fly with this human no way

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

Don't sign me up for your march of lame

This living soul knows the wise of love's grace

Nah I ain't down with no rage n hate

And Cain's stain I will not entertain

Words heard peace out

Reads like rap and at the end a bit like a rap hymn. That's something I don't remember encountering before, but I love the idea. This reads well. At first I thought a line like, "Sure it's easy a false faith to embrace," seemed a little stilted in its old-fashioned poetical inversion but when I said it out loud it worked for me. Are you going to produce this. I would look forward to hearing it.

I may or may not be an enigma
