wrote this today. It’s like 70% guitar solo, but I think it’s fairly inoffensive to the ears and/or sensibilities. Figured I’d share. Cheers folks
A Love Song To Tennessee
Last night I had a dream
About a field in Tennessee
That I know you’ve never seen
But you were sitting there beside me
Last night in my sleep
The sky was clear and gold and blue
The deep green trees were dancing to
The wispy whistlin’ whispered breeze
Of warm colitas’ wafting tune
And I looked at you
And you looked back at me
And said you’d never leave me here
To be clear we don’t have to go
I said pinch me it’s a dream
And you did and I awoke
About a thousand miles north back home
At three am in bed alone
And at first I couldn’t breathe
I tried my best but I just couldn’t sleep
So I grabbed a beat up six string
Lit a joint and started hittin’ strings
And I wrote a love song to Tennessee
To Nashville’s Grand Ol’ Opry
To cannonballs in Knob Creek
And to dry ol’ coffee county
I wrote a dumb song to Tennessee
And love that never got to be
A love song about a dream
Of you and me
On a field in Tennessee
