The Hand
As you let go of the hand that loves you.
Just remember that I care
As you reach out for the other hand that loves you
One hands letting go the others holding on.
As we walk down the aisle please walk slow.
This is harder than you think
As we walk down the aisle I see a little girl
Only six years old pigtails and curls.
The hand that loves you
Doesn't want to let go
The hand that held you
Whenever you were hurting
Is now the hand that has to let go
It's never really easy
To let go of the hand that loves you.
But I know that the other hand that loves you
Cares for you as much as a man can
But it never easy to let go of the hand that loves you.
As you let go of the hand that loves you.
I felt that hesitation.
as you reach out to the other hand that loves you
I could see it in his eyes he felt it too.
The hand that loves you
Doesn't want to let go
The hand that held you
Whenever you were hurting
Is now the hand that has to let go
It's never really easy
To let go of the hand that loves you.
She walked into that cold Hospital room
Her tears Wouldn't stop flowing.
He looked at her and said it is time to let go
I'm holding on to the hand of the Lord
The memories of her wedding day
The hand that once held her so tight
The best years of their lifes have gone by way too fast
And she knows she has to let go
Finale
She gives him a kiss
As the tears continue to flow
Reluctantly She lets go of the hand
That loved her
