That's My Dad
I woke up crying one dark night.
When I was a little boy..
I dreamt my daddy had passed away
Daddy came and talked to me till I felled asleep
He covered me up and stayed with me.
When I woke up there he was
I don't think he slept at all
That's my dad.
That's what he does.
He was always a family man
Took us kids camping and fishing.
When ever he could
That's my dad
Yeah that's my Dad.
When I was a teenager
We didn't see eye to eye.
But Dad always believed in me.
He was right and I was so dang wrong...
He would pray for me all night long.
When I would awake there he was
I don't think he slept a wink
That's my dad.
That's what he does.
He was always a family man
Took us kids camping and fishing.
When ever he could
That's my dad
Yeah that's my Dad.
I love him even then
Now I'm in my 60s..
Dads now in his eightys...
Dad still prays for me all the time
His children means more to him than life.
When I visit him he still cares.
Looks like he never slept.
That's my dad.
That's what he does.
He was always a family man
Took us kids camping and fishing.
When ever he could
That's my dad
Yeah that's my Dad.
And I love him so.
