Remembering 69

It was back in 69....
Diane brought her fishing line.
Met me at the railroad tracks.
She warned me boy you better go back.
What I have in mind is something you've never done.

Told her that was just fine.
In her backpack was a bottle of wine.
Stole it from her Uncles wine rack.
I took the bait she had me on my back.
In no time we were having fun in the sun.

Remembering 69.
The days when Diane was all mine.
She was right it  was something I'd never done.
But I can't say that no more.
Remembering 69.
Yeah I'm remembering 69.

Forty years later in 09.
Diane was fishing on line.
Ask me if I ever went back to 69.
To the place beside the tracks.
I told her I can't remember 69.

But do I remember 69.
Oh yeah I'll never forget 69.
The things that we did in 69.
Yeah I'm remembering
