At the end of the freight train.
Where the switchman and brakeman would always stop and speak to me.
And when the train left they would always wave to me.
I miss that little red caboose at the end of the freight train.
It's a pity they don't have the little red caboose anymore.
At the end of the freight train.
My grandchildren don't get to see the little red caboose at the end of the train.
It's a pity they don't get to see the caboose.
I wish my grandchidlren could see the little red caboose.
It's a pity they don't get to speak to the switchman and the brakeman.
And they don't get to wave goodbye.
Oh please bring back the days of the little red caboose.
I miss hearing the train whistle in the wind.
Please bring back the little red caboose.
I miss the little red caboose.
I miss speaking to the switchman and the brakeman.
I miss waving goodbye as the train leaves.
I miss waving goodbye to the switchman and the brakeman
My only wish is for the days of the little red caboose.
Would come around again.
So my grandchildren can wave goodbye to the little red caboose.
