Helen Waite

Said you don't love me anymore.
You mentioned another man...
You said I was too boring.
Said I'd wait till you changed your mind.
You said go to hell en' wait...
Chorus
SO I MADE A TRIP THAT NIGHT
To Helen Waite AGAIN.
A PLACE WHERE SPARKS ARE ALWAYS FLYING
AND IF I GET THERE BY TEN
PASSION WILL BE FLAMING
BEHIND THE OPEN GATE
SO WHEN I'M WANTING AND HURTING
I go to Helen Waite.
I go I go to Helen Waite.
V-2
I'D Met THIS WOMAN at the Dinner Bell.
We'D talked and talked for hours.
I told her everything you said.
When I asked her her name.

We laughed and laughed ABOUT FOOLISH LOVE.
Repeat Chorus [starting with GLAD I MADE THE TRIP THAT NIGHT]
V-3
When you told me goodbye...
I was hit by a barb wire fence.
Was it fate or coincidence.
Over at the Dinner Bell.
You wonder if there's ever a chance...
That I might come back to you.

Hey Larry. You are the king of catchy hook ideas. Helen Waite - I love it! Having said that, I think it could be tightened up. Why is he going to Helen Waite AGAIN - has he been before? What is the significance of getting there by 10, other than rhyming with again? A brief description of Helen's charms would be nice. Also, a funny song really benefits from rhyme, in my opinion.
I may or may not be an enigma
