A Moncton Christmas
I remember when I was a kid.
My dad and I would go get a Christmas tree.
Up past Caledonia Hill.
A real tree not a fake tree.
We ate Barley Toy candy...
Hard as rock and all shape in Christmas toys.
In the house on Caledonia road.
Ribbon candy and chicken bone candy
Which was my Mother's favorite.
My Sisteers and I made snow angels.
In the snow on Caledonia Road.
Summer savory dressing..
Turkey roasting in the hot oven.
The smell just drove us crazy.
Chistmas in New Brunswick.
Like no place like home.
I miss those Christmasses.
So long long long ago...
Memories of Christmas day.
