This is to celebrate their agreement to work cooperatively with Native Instruments. You can also download NI's Hybrid Keys for free. Additionally, you get a $25 coupon to spend in each store. Elements is the basic version of the Ozone program, but it's really great in my opinion. Very easy to use, even for me :) Here's the link:

https://www.izotope.com/en/alliance/ozone-elements-x-hybrid-keys.html

Since this would be a major selling point for me, I'm wondering if you would be willing to conduct a little experiment...?

1- Choose any song that you can comfortably strum a guitar and sing to a drum track.
2- Find a style in BIAB close to that song.
3- Turn off all the accompanyment in that style except for one bar of drums.
4- Record yourself strumming and singing along with the drum track.
5- Use the Analyze feature to automatically generate a backing track in that style.

Obviously for this experiment any simple song with an obvious chord change in the chorus/bridge would be great, and don't worry about sound quality either. What I really want to know is if my usual "phone rough" recordings will be sufficient :)

I'm watching/listening to this on Youtube, from TAXI, with Joe Brandt, an advisory on 'tagging', the metadata you can add to things on the net to get more search engine hits, I think. I'm fourteen minutes in and I think it may be relevant.
It's an hour and 29 minutes so it takes a bit of time to find out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eysUV-ps0Y&feature=youtu.be

Having been born in the time of the dinosaurs I still have a concept of a 'reader' as a person with eyes seeing words on a page.
But computers can go get whatever data you ask them for, searching through billions of words in electronic storage to 'see' and bring it back and show it to you.
That may be why two Songs right next to each other in the Lyric Feedback list get different numbers of views. The computer leads them to one 'title' and they never even see the other one. The right title and other associated wording can make them 'see'.

SEO - Search Engine Optimization.

QUOTE FROM THE VIDEO:
On this episode of TAXI TV, expert Joe Brandt, joins us to go over the most common mp3 tag mistakes and how to avoid them! You will learn how good metadata and tagging can help you get more music placements and get more income. It's a very overlooked part in the music business, but it couldn't be MORE important for your success.

Joe is on the show by popular demand, because so many of you couldn't stop raving about his music business class on mp3 tag mistakes and metadata at this year's TAXI Road Rally Convention! So we thought we would dedicate a whole TAXI TV episode to the topic to further your knowledge. We want to set you guys up for success. We try to do as much as we can to help you avoid these common and, often times, silly mistakes along the way.

Don't release your music OR EVEN upload your music until you do these 3 critical things:

- Choose the right title

- Check your levels

- Add the metadata - we cover why it's important and how to do it RIGHT!

Put in the extra few minutes of work after you finish a beautiful piece of music that you believe in. And pay attention to your mp3 tags people!! (You'll thank us later when all of your deals start coming in and when music executives can't stop complimenting your attention to detail to make their jobs easier!!!)

---------------------------------------

Watch Last Week's Episode: https://youtu.be/GbiM7j07AnY

Learn More About TAXI Independent A&R: http://bit.ly/2mPVGYh

Rub Elbows with Music Industry Pros at Our FREE Yearly Convention: http://bit.ly/2a9mwlp

View Our Current Music Industry Opportunities: http://bit.ly/28JPUyd

Connect with Fellow Songwriters on the TAXI Forum: http://bit.ly/2DENChs

Listen on the Go with the TAXI TV Podcast:
Apple Podcasts: http://apple.co/2afebwW
Google Play: http://bit.ly/2a7cCQX
Stitcher: http://bit.ly/2FuSTJQ
Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2icUDe0
TuneIn: http://bit.ly/2DCzKrd

Follow Us On Social Media...
Facebook: http://bit.ly/2931C7x
Twitter: http://bit.ly/2jJ0EnQ
Instagram: http://bit.ly/2jcg7we

SUBSCRIBE to our channel and comment below!
Category
Music

I got an email from Izotope today telling me that Ozone Elements is available free for a limited time. This is version 8. They are getting ready to release version 9, so I suppose they are hoping that people will try version 8 and feel the urge to upgrade when they dangle an attractive price in front of existing users. The normal price is $129, so $0 is a pretty good deal

Ozone Elements is probably the most useful plug-in I have ever installed. It makes mastering easy and produces a great sound without you really needing to be an expert. I normally find that choosing a preset is enough without any adjustment. I was using version 7 and have just downloaded 8. It has quite a lot more features. Especially useful, in my opinion, is the option of selecting between mastering for streaming and for CD. Basically, the CD setting maximizes the volume while the streaming setting applies the standard -14 LUFS for loudness, used by Spotify, etc. I used to have to do this using a separate plug-in called YouLean Loudness Meter (also really good), but it's great and far quicker to be able to do this automatically when you master. If you are uploading a single, you can actually set the loudness higher and Spotify will automatically reduce it to -14 LUFS, but if you are uploading an album, it's important to have all tracks the same volume when you upload them. Spotify's algorithm will not adjust them individually, so a listener would have to keep adjusting the volume on his/her phone.
