How will the songwriting process change A.C. (after COVID-19)? Will topics and themes be more vulnerable or triumphant? How will be writing impacted if you need to collaborate virtually? Who knows? Songwriters are a resilient bunch -- maybe we’ll jump right back into the water, but that’s doubtful. Please join this discussion about how we will emerge from Zoom and get back into the room where it all happens.
Panelists Include:
David Bassett, songwriter/producer
Sam Hollander, songwriter/producer
MILCK, singer-songwriter
Victoria Shaw, songwriter/producer
Moderator:
Shelly Peiken – songwriter, founding member, Songwriters of North America (SONA)~

Despite 1,000's of years of Songwriting humans have not exhausted the possibilities. There will always be another Song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com
Don't get in a hurry.
This is an extraordinary circumstance.
It demands extraordinary behavior.
Leadership Decision-Makers of companies should be investing their profits in keeping their employees whole as they weather this crisis.
Companies can invest in their Consumer Resources too, the people who 'make it their custom' to buy your commodities and services.
Many companies have resources to take care of themselves. Those resources were earned by the heads and hands of employees working in exchange for a wage. That wage probably didn't enable them to build up a reserve of cash for weathering the storm for very long. Most people live a paycheck away from economic crisis...in normal times. These...are not normal times.
Extraordinary circumstances of "Threatening Change" in the 'economic environment' demand extraordinary tactics in strategies of Adaptive Response. Not business as usual. If The People aren't able to stay well, to stay alive, that's a loss of sole-source suppliers of Human Competence, THE base resource demanded to accomplish any Human endeavor. Human Resources are America's most valuable Natural Resource. Take care of them and they'll take care of you. It's a symbiotic relationship. Beware those who 'teach' that it is an 'adversarial' relationship.
Leadership Decision-Makers in government should be educated to recognize the extraordinary circumstances of Pandemic, and design extraordinary tactics in strategies of Adaptive Response.
Governments have the resources to get through this intact.
Keeping Citizens whole, those who don't have personal resources to rely on, will make the difference between whether the nation, the state, the city, the community will be able to rebound at all, or how quickly, or if people will be knocked down so low, if not out, they won't be able to recover quickly in their own lives, and in the many ways they supply Human Competence to make companies profitable, to make a nation hum in dollars and cents. Take care of The People.
Getting back in the room to create music means Biological Distancing, what they call Social Distancing, where a virus might jump from one 'biological entity' to another 'biological entity'. You may be one of those, sending, or receiving. So don't rush it.
Pandemics typically have a Second Wave that sickens more and kills more than the First Wave. Who knows where we are in the First Wave? Maybe the 'peak' ain't the peak. Maybe there's more to come. And if the virus stays viable through a Second Wave it may still be there for a Third Wave.
Dr. Fauci expects Coronavirus to still be virulent in 'fall', Autumn, May, June, July, August, September? October? November? December? 2021? So don't get in a hurry.
