Always entertaining, Gavin.

"Go on, try explaining that away. Huh! If you're so smart" lol, you perfectly delivered that line.

"Hey, where you going? I ain't done talking to you!" -- I can totally see this guy ranting to anyone who'll listen.

Enjoyed that. Thanks

Thanks for listening, Jen. I have definitely met people like the guy in the song. There's no point in trying to put them right. You just have to discreetly move to the other end of the bar (or move on to the next Facebook post).

I have a couple cousins who are this guy. Hard to move to the end of the bar when they're family.

My internal dialogue, "Smile Jen. No, don't bite. Smile. Keep smiling. Nod your head now." "Oh, I forgot I've got something on the stove....sorry, gotta run"

I had the epiphany that, 'What I know to be true is bizarre enough that almost anything might be true.'
Nothing is so far-fetched as to be beyond the realm of possibility. It's hard to fool people who are well-read. Most people aren't well-read. The primary use of the internet prior to 9-11-2001 was for pornography, which is sold by big companies like General Electric. They consider it just another line of revenue. The events of 9-11 'woke' people. They looked around and wondered what was going on in the world they had ignored. Gradually, I'm sure, they've drifted back to their old ways. They found lots of conspiracy theories and sources of 'information' while they were awake. But they can't tell the difference between journalism and propaganda and sensationalism. They don't have experience in making those kinds of judgment.
I remember a woman siding with Clarence Thomas over Anita Hill who exposed him as a dipshit, feeling she had to speak out to keep us from having a dipshit get a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court, the woman I knew repeating the propaganda idea, "Then why did she follow him to this other job?" as if Hill had sat in the shadows in her car and stalked Thomas. They were simply in the same business of law in government, and ended up working in two of the same places. But those who wanted to distract us from actually evaluating his qualifications used that tactics, and this woman, representing a segment of the public, swallowed and regurgitated the very words they used.
Then came the O. J. Simpson murder trial, mysteriously televised, in real time, as it happened. Unprecedented, but the public just took it as perfectly logical that it should be done that way. At the same time another trial was going on, the trial of the Blind Sheik and company who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993. It ended the same day as the O. J. trial, but I'll give a dollar to the first person you can find who knows who was charged and what with and how the trial came out.
I think it was Disraeli who advised, "Keep the people giddy with the sensational so they won't pay attention to what you're doing." That kind of thinking from a Prime Minister, again, known to be true, makes that kind of thinking from Leadership Decision-Makers of any kind suspect for any Deception (capital D) they might be accused of, or caught in.
I'm going back to listen to your Song again. I got most of it the first time through so your enunciation communicated well.

Despite 1,000's of years of Songwriting humans have not exhausted the possibilities. There will always be another Song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Gary, conspiracy theories have interested me for some time. Not the theories themselves but the willingness some have to believe them. I have a feeling that, if it were possible to design a suitable experiment, researchers would find that one small part of the brains of these folks is wired differently from the rest of us. It's not the only factor. Education definitely plays a part - not just how much education, but what kind. So do prejudice and political views.

I have now probably provided the inspiration for a theory that researchers at a secret United Nations lab on a remote desert island are dissecting Americans' brains as part of a diabolical experiment to unravel the mystery of why they believe the shit they do. Oh, and it's financed by the Clinton Foundation LOL.

No no no no! Let's keep the story straight here!! The Clintons bagged Bigfoot and are now trying to prove that he’s the "genetic missing link" instead of admitting that he’s the product of 200yrs of blue blooded aristocracy and inbreeding coupled with a diet of "Red Sea" tainted lobster, caviar, and bagels!!!!

Thanks Tony. It was fun to write. I still have to tweak the lyrics a little. Actually, the bit I enjoyed most was the trumpet in the background.

More than happy to let my hair down, but not so sure about rocking out. Not sure I know how to do that LOL.
