Here’s a new song I recently wrote together with Carroll Kiphen: If I Was Young Again. I have to admit, the older you get the more you start thinking about this topic. Carroll wrote the lyrics and I composed the tune and played all the instruments. This one is a bit more complex than many of my recent songs. Linda Beringmeier contributed the vocals. She sounds really awesome. Enjoy.

IF I WAS YOUNG AGAIN
Verse:
As a child I'd spin the globe
Place my finger down
Close my eyes imagine
The new life I had found
Nothing's like the innocence
Of a young child's mind
It's beauty and it's wonder
Oh how I miss those times
Pre-chorus:
Round and round and round we'd go
Places in our minds
Open to adventure
Unchained from father time
Chorus:
Places that I'd go
Things that I would do
If I was young again
I'd go back with you
I'd dream like a child
Of things that I could do
If I was young again
I'd go back with you
If I was young again
If I was young again
Verse:
I'd climb up Mt. Olympus
Sit on Zeus's throne
Look out upon the world
Give you all I owned
We'd sail the Nile with Pharaoh
Help him drink his wine
If I was young again
And darling you were mine
Pre-chorus:
Tumbling like rolling dice
Good luck on our side
All we would have to do
Is wish and close our eyes
Chorus

I enjoyed it, Robert. Sweet melody, very nice production, as always. Love the vocals too. It's a small thing, but the mispronunciation of Zeus does stand out a bit. Not sure if it's easy to go back and correct it.
I may or may not be an enigma

Hi Robert,
good to see that you are still creating new tunes. Sweet melody, well done 🙂 ...
Every once in a while I get in the mood or so... and start to play...
Hey Gavin,
thanks for telling me. We'll give it another try when Linda comes by again.
All the best

Hey Martin,
it's good to see you here too. We should stay in touch in the future.
All the best
