Someone over at JPF just said his wife overheard him playing this without being able to hear the words and thought it sounded like Mr. Rogers LOL. I must admit I was not expecting these comparisons with him and Big Bird.

Strictly speaking you're right, Allfor, at least if you are going by syllable count, but not when you listen. That's why I hate the idea of slavishly counting syllables - it takes no account of the flexibility that a melody can offer. Sometimes, leaving a little air at the end of a line, or even in the middle, works, making it sound more natural and easier to sing. I totally get the idea of syllable count if you're only writing lyrics, but if you hear the melody in your head, you know what fits. 🙂
